Achiet-le-Grand during WW1
LT Charles Sharpe , 1/4th Royal Berkshire Regiment in his diary said that he saw 18 aeroplanes bomb Achiet station on the 23rd September 1915.
13th squadron "RFC" lays claim to pioneering bombing in formation when, during a raid on Achiet-le-Grand in November 1915, nine of squadron's aircraft bombed German anti aircraft defences.
